1. About Compass Rose Farm Sanctuary
Compass Rose Farm Sanctuary Inc ("CRFS," "we," "us," or "our") is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization incorporated in Indiana. Our mission is to save and rehabilitate malnourished, abandoned, and aging farm animals while providing education about responsible animal care and the issues facing abandoned farm animals.

2. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing our website, participating in our programs, visiting our facility, or making donations, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.
3. Animal Sponsorship Program
3.1 Sponsorship Structure
- Animal sponsorships are monthly recurring donations that support the care of specific animals at our sanctuary
- Sponsorship amounts and available animals are determined by CRFS and may change at our discretion
- Sponsorships do not constitute ownership or legal rights to the sponsored animal
3.2 Sponsorship Terms
- Sponsorships are processed as recurring monthly donations on the same date each month
- Sponsors may cancel their sponsorship at any time by contacting us or through their donor portal
- If a sponsored animal passes away or is relocated, sponsors will be notified and may choose to sponsor another animal or discontinue their sponsorship
- Sponsorship benefits (updates, photos, etc.) are provided as available and are not guaranteed with specific frequency
3.3 Cancellation and Refunds
- Monthly sponsorships may be cancelled at any time with 30 days notice
- Past sponsorship payments are non-refundable as they are charitable donations that have already been used for animal care
- Cancellations take effect at the next billing cycle after notice is received
4. Educational Tours and Visits
4.1 Tour Booking
- Group tours must be scheduled in advance
- Tour availability is subject to weather conditions, animal welfare considerations, and facility capacity
- Minimum group sizes and tour fees are determined by CRFS
4.2 Cancellation Policy
- Tours may be cancelled by either party with 48 hours notice
- CRFS reserves the right to cancel tours due to inclement weather, animal health concerns, or facility issues
- Cancelled tours will be rescheduled when possible or refunded at CRFS's discretion
4.3 Visitor Safety and Liability
- Children must be supervised by adults at all times
- Visitors must follow all safety guidelines provided by CRFS staff
- Visitors participate in tours at their own risk
5. Donations
5.1 General Donations
- All donations to CRFS are voluntary charitable contributions
- Donations are generally non-refundable once processed
- CRFS will provide tax-deductible receipts for all qualifying donations
5.2 Tax Deductibility
- CRFS is a 501(c)(3) organization; donations may be tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law
- Donors should consult with tax professionals regarding deductibility
- No goods or services are provided in exchange for donations unless specifically noted
6. Merchandise Sales
6.1 Merchandise Availability
- Merchandise is primarily sold at our facility
- Limited items may be available for online purchase
- All sales are final unless merchandise is defective
6.2 Refund Policy for Merchandise
- Defective merchandise may be exchanged within 30 days of purchase
- Proof of purchase required for all returns or exchanges
- Custom or personalized items are not eligible for return
7. Website Use and Privacy

- All content on our website is for informational purposes
- CRFS reserves the right to update website content at any time
- Users may not reproduce or distribute website content without permission

9. Limitation of Liability
9.1 Sanctuary Operations
- CRFS operates as a nonprofit organization with limited resources
- We cannot guarantee specific outcomes for animals in our care
- Supporters understand that animal rescue involves inherent uncertainties
9.2 Website and Services
- CRFS provides services "as is" without warranties of any kind
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- Our total liability is limited to the amount of donations received from the affected party
10. Volunteer Activities
- Volunteers must complete required training and sign additional waivers
- Volunteer activities are subject to separate volunteer agreements
- CRFS reserves the right to terminate volunteer relationships at our discretion
11. Photography and Media
11.1 Sanctuary Photography
- Visitors may photograph animals for personal use
- Commercial use of sanctuary photos requires written permission
- CRFS may use visitor photos for promotional purposes unless visitors opt out
11.2 Privacy of Individuals
- Photography of other visitors without consent is prohibited
- CRFS respects visitor privacy and will honor requests not to be photographed
12. Dispute Resolution
- Any disputes will be resolved through good faith discussion
- If necessary, disputes will be subject to mediation in Owen County, Indiana
- Indiana law governs these terms and conditions
13. Modifications
CRFS reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be posted on our website with an updated effective date. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.
14. Severability
If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
